My name is Caroline and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Pain Management Practitioner.
I understand how it feels to be where you are now and how it can be difficult to reach out and ask for help.
I struggled for many years with Chronic Osteoarthritis which caused both physical pain and also took an emotional toll on me. I chose hypnotherapy to help me with pre and post surgery pain management with fantastic results. It is one of the reasons I decided to study to be a hypnotherapist.
I have also trained as a Person Centred Counsellor, I use my counselling skills during our sessions to really hear what is going on for you. The amount of people who come to see me and say
" I talk to my partner/friend/family, they listen but nobody is HEARING me leaving me feeling misunderstood or lost”.
I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental, confidential, comfortable place to really talk about what it is that is troubling you and together we can work out a way forward.
I have previously worked within the NHS and for the Australian private medical sector. I have seen people at their most vulnerable so I know how important it is to be seen as a person and not just a number or medical condition.
You are not whatever "Label" has been put on you, you are a unique person and I have a genuine passion for helping you to feel great again.

EMDR is a specialist psychotherapy process which is used to treat disturbing events, trauma and PTSD, amongst other distresses.
During EMDR the alternating left-right stimulation of the brain with eye movements, sounds or taps, seems to stimulate the frozen or blocked information processing system.
As the process continues, distressing memories seem to lose their intensity, so that the memories are less distressing and seem more like ‘ordinary’ memories.
The effect is believed to be similar to that which occurs naturally during REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) when your eyes rapidly move from side to side.
EMDR helps reduce the distress of all the different kinds of memories from your senses ( what you saw, heard, smelt, tasted, felt or thought.)
Although EMDR uses simple eye movements it is an intensive therapy with protocols and procedures, which have been well researched for their effectiveness.
EMDR is cited in the NHS NICE guidelines as a recommended therapy for PTSD, however it is useful for any memory that is causing disturbances/ distress (including: anxiety based disorders (including panic attacks), obsessive compulsive disorders, phobias, abuse (verbal, physical and sexual), rape and sexual assault, self-esteem issues, anger, depression, performance anxiety etc).
Hypnosis is a natural calm state of focused inwards attention
( a bit like zoning out or day dreaming)
When we allow ourselves to enter this unique state of focused attention it opens the door to countless possibilities for healing, self-exploration and change.
It allows beneficial suggestions to be given directly to the part of our mind known as the subconscious or unconscious.
Our subconscious or unconscious is the part of us that knows us the best, runs all of our everyday programs and is there to keep us happy, healthy and safe.
We may have beliefs, behaviours and habits that limit our everyday life.
During hypnosis these thoughts and behaviours can be changed allowing us to view our world differently and reach our full potential.
Recently hypnotherapy has been gaining in the medical world after a recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recognised hypnotherapy as a treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Usually pain alerts us to a problem and gives us the appropriate “pain message” to act appropriately to alleviate the pain.
After an appropriate healing time the pain goes. Our bodies are miracles of nature and in most cases they heal themselves with no conscious input from us.
In some cases old pain remains, when it is no longer required.
This is when Rapid Pain Elimination Therapy can come into play to remove or significantly reduce the pain in a totally unique way.
This is a unique therapy and all I will need to do is talk to you – it is not hypnosis – no trance is needed.
Rapid pain Elimination is a simple methodology based on how the brain processes things, so whilst we all store different information in our head, we do tend to process things in the same way as everyone else.
When we continue in pain, long after the initial warning is unnecessary, then all we need to do is change that old, useless out of date program.
I will guide you each step of the way to get you as pain free as is possible including for some totally free of that old Pain.
Meeting Caroline was truly one of the best things that have ever happened in my life. I had this instant good feeling about her, as if we knew each other for decades.
Caroline has a unique way of being ... it is hard to dress this with words... she just makes me feel so safe. It is so much easier to open up, knowing that you are not going to be judged... knowing that we all make mistakes and these are lessons to learn from.
Caroline helped me to put my difficult past behind me.. I am not haunted by the dark and painful memories any more. I don't hate anymore. I even started to accept my self, for being myself. Sounds strange - but that was probably the biggest hurdle for me to overcome.
What was the greatest positive surprise for me was that my physical health has also improved.
Caroline is a very gifted lady. I am so grateful for having her in my life....
I use hypnotherapy for changing habits, addictions, weight control, smoking, phobias, fears, confidence, motivation, anxiety, stress, controlling pain and symptoms from illness. Recently hypnotherapy has been gaining in the medical world after a recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recognised hypnotherapy as a treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
The physical effects during hypnosis are different for each person but my clients tell me that they feel comfortably relaxed, calm and focused.
It's a little like how you feel when you are day dreaming.
After a session my clients tell me that they feel very light, like a weight has been lifted from them and that effect carries on long after the session has ended.
I get asked this question quite often, and the simple answer is NO.
This misconception comes from the way stage hypnosis is presented and this bears no resemblance to hypnotherapy.
Hypnosis has the capability to work for the majority of individuals, the most important thing to remember is that you must be fully committed to the process, as I am, and feel that you can place your trust in me, this is a team effort.
How regularly you see me will be something we decide on together. Initially, you may decide you wish to meet on a weekly basis, but depending on improvements and how you feel, you may choose to then see me more or less frequently. I aim to get beneficial results in as few sessions as possible.
You won't be asleep. You may find that your thoughts drift but your subconscious mind is alert and focussed on all that is said.
Hypnotherapy is effective, however results may vary and success in not guaranteed. Full client commitment is important.
